Why Wake up at Brahma Muhurta-one and half hour before sunrise?
Brahma Muhurta
Brahma Muhurta means time of Brahma i.e. one hour and 36 minutes before sunrise which literally means "The creator's hour". It is considered as an auspicious time for all practices of yoga and most appropriate for meditation, worship or any other religious practice. spiritual activities performed early in the morning have a greater effect than in any other part of the day.
Each muhurta lasts for 48 minutes and therefore the Brahma muhurta begins 1 hour and 36 minutes before sunrise.
Scientific importance of Brahma Muhurta
According to Ayurveda there are three doshas found in the human physical body such as Vata (air and earth), pitta (fire and water) and Kapha (earth and water). The increase or decrease of these three doshas is related to the cycles of time. From sunrise until 10:00 am is the time of kapha from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm is pitta time and from 2:00 pm until sunset is the time of vata.
From evening it follows similar pattern since Brahma muhurta occurs during the vata phase of the morning i.e between 2:00 am and 6:00 am Yoga masters states that the best time to meditate is one and half hours before dawn, because the mind is inherently still at that time enabling one to achieve a deeper meditative state.
Spiritual importance of Brahma Muhurta
In the Bhagwad gita Lord Krishna says
yuktahara-viharasya
yukta-cestasya karmasu
yukta-svapnavabodhasya
yoga bhavati dukha-ha
Meaning: He who is regulated in his habits of eating, sleeping, recreation and work can mitigate all material pains by practicing the yoga system.
leading a regulated life helps us to overcome the influence of the modes of material nature and thus be situated in a position more conductive to developing transcendental consciousness.
Concerning pratah-smrti, rememberance of the Lord in the morning, in the early morning hours one should get up and immediately chant the Hare Krishna Mahamantra or at least 'krsna, krsna, krsna'. In this way one should remember krsna. This helps to clear the conciousness of the influence of sleep or any bad dreams you may have experienced during night.
Why we should chant Hare krishna Mahamantra during Brahma Muhurta?
In chaitanya- caritamrta purport 24.331 Srila prabhupada says
smatavyah satatam vusnur vismartavya na jatucit sarve vidhi-nisedhah syur etayor eva kinkarah
Meaning: Krsna is the origin of lord Vishnu. He should always be remembered and never forgotten at any time. All the rules and prohibitions mentioned in the sastras should be the servants of these two principles.
Very intrinteres in todays world ( kalyuga) it is very difficult to do it due to busy schedule but i will try my best to do ot . Hare krishna!!🙏🙏
